Sequence of events:

1: Started painting Barnaby in full-out moping girly winged form.
1a: Deliberately give him the kind of absurd costume one would need if one had giant wings.
2: Amuse self with the old standby of humiliating one's characters.
3: Realize that if self doesn't draw Barnaby in his actual clothes, self will imagine him with pink socks and neon orange arm warmers for all eternity.

After that, I had to try and make him not look like the fourth Doctor. Good thing he doesn't have curly hair.

Will add colours maybe?
